Specialist consultations, functional testing and paramedical support: the care available at the CIRCAE centre.
Medical consultations as part of health assessments and the follow-up of respiratory and sleep conditions.
A multidisciplinary team for therapies and support that complements medical follow-up.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
COPD is now the 3rd leading cause of death worldwide. A chronic, incurable disease, it remains underdiagnosed, even though early screening helps preserve our lung capacity.
If you have smoked at least 1 pack a day for 10 years (or ½ a pack for 20 years, i.e. 10 pack-years), screening is advisable even in the absence of symptoms. To this end, CIRCAE runs a programme in partnership with general practitioners: any patient meeting these criteria can benefit from screening.
Gathering symptoms, smoking history, occupational exposures and respiratory history.
Measurement of lung volumes and flows. A simple, non-invasive test carried out in a few minutes at the practice. It detects bronchial obstruction and assesses its severity.
After inhaling a bronchodilator, a second spirometry assesses the reversibility of the obstruction and guides the differential diagnosis (COPD or asthma).
Dr Desplan presents the results, establishes the diagnosis and proposes a suitable follow-up plan: smoking cessation, respiratory rehabilitation, inhaled treatment.
Obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (OSAS) requires both medical and technical management. At the CIRCAE centre, two complementary practitioners provide complete follow-up for patients on therapy.
Cécile handles the set-up of CPAP equipment, patient education on using the device and the monitoring of therapeutic adherence.
Dr Desplan oversees the medical side: initial diagnosis, CPAP prescription, pressure adjustment and long-term clinical follow-up.
Blood samples are taken directly at the centre by our specialist nurse, as part of health assessments. The analyses are then processed by our partner laboratory LBS.
Additional tests prescribed according to the patient's multidisciplinary medical assessment.
The doctor prescribes the analyses appropriate to the assessment carried out (CIRCASLEEP, CIRCABREATH, CIRCADIET, CIRCAMOVE).
The blood sample is taken directly at the CIRCAE centre by our specialist nurse, immediately following the consultation.
The results are sent to the prescribing doctor, who interprets them within the patient's clinical context.
Analyses prescribed as part of a medical consultation are reimbursed according to the usual INAMI schedules.
Blood analyses are prescribed during the medical consultation; no separate appointment is required.
Yoga and mindfulness meditation are offered at the CIRCAE centre as practices that complement preventive medicine. They form part of a care approach geared towards regulating the autonomic nervous system, managing stress and improving sleep quality.
The sessions are designed for patients of any physical condition. They adapt to each person's abilities and to the goals set during the health assessment.
A personalised session built around the results of the health assessment and the patient's goals. Focused on mobility, conscious breathing and deep relaxation.
A mindfulness meditation programme following the MTI protocol. Suited to patients with sleep disorders, anxiety or chronic fatigue.
A short session of conscious breathing techniques, offered alongside the CIRCABREATH or CIRCASLEEP assessment. Open to all, with no prior experience needed.
